The world of Day Gecko (Phelsuma lineata)
ヒルヤモリ (Phelsuma lineata)の世界

Day geckos are very popular in Europe, but not in Japan. This species has many variations at their sizes (12cm --- Phelsuma lineata is about 15cm, to 25cm --- Phelsuma madagascariensis), colors and marks. All the day geckos are specified as CITES II (wild objects cannot be captured/exported/imported/sold without permission).

Unlike the other lizards, day geckos can raise their neck and look around.
[Aug. '95]
Their food is not only insects, but also sweet liquids. In nature, they also ricks rape fluits. She's ricking honey from hashi.

Shedding

Normally parts of shed skin like this can be found (maybe stomach part).
A whole ``corn'' of her tail; shed skin is a good item to inspect their scale pattern without touching/flightening them. We can see day gecko (Phelsuma lineata)'s tail scale pattern (from back) clearly in this picture.
The same thing above (from stomack).
Size of the above things; the coin's diamater is 2cm.
